The Castellón Wind Festival is, without a doubt, an annual event held on the beaches of El Pinar and Gurugú, which aims to raise awareness of the wonderful beaches of Castellón. It takes place at the beginning of June and offers a wide variety of free activities open to the public.
The Wind Festival
Durante el festival, los asistentes pueden disfrutar de talleres de vuelo y construcción de cometas, exhibiciones de vuelos acrobáticos, cometas estáticas de hasta 50 metros de largo y globos aerostáticos que ofrecen vistas espectaculares del ocaso. Además, se llevarán a cabo torneos de vóley y tenis playa, así como emocionantes actividades acuáticas.
The festival features a musical programme with concerts, Latin dances, DJ sets and storytelling, creating a festive atmosphere both day and night. It's a fact: the beach bars are expanding their gastronomic offerings to complement the experience.
What we can do:
This year is the second edition and will take place on 7 and 8 June, although we do not have the programme of events, it has been said that some of the scheduled events are as follows:
There will be exhibitions of kites of different sizes.
There will be more balloon flights so that more people can see spectacular views.
There will be aerial demonstrations. Exhibition of antique and military aircraft.
Children's workshops: spaces for building and flying kites.
Live music: concerts and DJs in beach bars.
Sand sculpture area: 5 large sculptures made by specialised artists.
Market and food: more space for the market and food at the beach bars.
Programación del Festival del viento para está edición
Last year, the festival counted with the outstanding participation of renowned pilots both nationally and internationally, with notable representations from Croatia and Portugal. This year, a greater influx of international pilots is expected, thanks to the growing interest that the Castellón event has awakened in the kite world. In fact, applications for participation have already been received even from India, home of one of the most important kite festivals in the world.

In the last edition
Our experience was very good, the wind was blowing strong, which made the kites fly very high and formed a beautiful spectacle on the beach since early morning. Here are some pictures of the kite flying, I hope you like them!
