We have all heard of ‘The Lovers of Teruel’ and as tradition has it, every year in Teruel ‘The Wedding of Isabel de Segura’ is celebrated.
During a long weekend, which this year is from 20th to 23rd February, the city of Teruel dresses up for this traditional and recommended event.
For the second consecutive year we travelled to the city of Teruel to enjoy the most important event of this beautiful city. The festival, catalogued as of National Tourist Interest, known as the Las Bodas de Isabel de Segura.

Teruel travels back to the 13th century to recreate the tragic love story between Isabel de Segura and Diego de Marcilla, the Lovers of Teruel.

Visiting Teruel these days is a journey into the past, seeing its streets decorated with flags and coats of arms, as well as enjoying the atmosphere that the people of Teruel create around this event, taking part in all the events that take place in the streets, squares and emblematic places of this welcoming city.

- Exhibition of looms. The Weavers.
- Exhibition of Medieval Dances.
- Performances of the Weddings, proclamations and revolts in different venues around the city.
- Warrior training and traditional games.
From Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd, Teruel offers a great event with a multitude of events related to Los Amantes de Teruel.
The show is on
On Saturday at 17:00h. the King's Tournament takes place in the Plaza de Toros, this is a very popular event in these fiestas.
Knights, horses, armour, swords and many competition tests that delight the public. A very well acclimatised show that we recommend you to enjoy.

Medieval Market
During the months of October and February the city of Teruel relives the legend of the Lovers. In its streets the medieval atmosphere of the time is recreated as well as the different scenes of the story of the Lovers, turning the city into a festival that immerses the visitor in the 13th century.
Both in the Partida de Diego (last weekend of September) and in the Bodas de Isabel (third weekend of February), a medieval market is set up in the town with stalls selling crafts, food, taverns and workshops. mercadillo medieval ambientado con puestos de artesanía, alimentación, tabernas y talleres.
It is organised in collaboration between Teruel City Council and the Bodas de Isabel Foundation, a Teruel-based organisation dedicated to creating events, generally of a historical or legendary nature, open to the participation of volunteers and collaboration from many sectors of the city, Aragon and other territories.
