The Morella aqueduct

The Morella Aqueduct was built in the 14th century. Two sections of very different characteristics are still preserved. It was the water transport route for the inhabitants of Morella.
The Basilica of Santa Maria la Mayor

The basilica is a representation of the religious Gothic style, with its beautifully decorated doors of the apostles and the finely structured virgins.
Although we have not been able to access the interior, the choir is known for its great beauty, for its particular scale and the choir loft, the baroque high altar and its organ, considered the most important in the Valencian Community.
The fortress castle of Morella

Morella Castle is a military fortress located on the top of a rock. Several civilisations have passed through its walls and it has witnessed countless wars and sackings, which have left a deep mark on it.
Nowadays little can be seen of this fortress, the parade ground and some walls and rooms are still standing, but little else. Access to the upper space is difficult for people with reduced mobility.
From the castle, it is worth noting the stupendous views that can be enjoyed, particularly from the main square.

The defensive towers and the city wall

The well-known towers of San Miquel are 15th century towers with an octagonal base and a connecting bridge. They are the most monumental entrance to the city.
The wall is more than 1 km long and runs along the entire town of Morella. With 16 watchtowers, it gives a beautiful image of balance and harmony to the town.
